RSF-Helmholtz Cooperation: 3rd Call for Proposals

In order to increase the scientific cooperation between Helmholtz Research Centers and Russian research organizations, the Helmholtz Association and the Russian Science Foundation announce the third call for applications for RSF-Helmholtz Joint Research Groups for the funding period 2019-2021. The Russian-German collaborations of research teams are invited to submit joint proposals.

The research proposals should seek support in the basic and exploratory research in the following areas of science: Mathematics, computer science and systems sciences; Physics and space sciences; Chemistry and material sciences; Biology and life sciences; Basic research for medicine; Agricultural sciences; Earth sciences; Engineering.

The research should be focused around solving specific research problems within either of thematic areas: "Materials and Emerging Technologies”, “Structure and Dynamics of Matter".

Project review will be carried out with both Russian and German parties independently. Funding will be awared for the proposals recommended for funding by the experts from both countries.

The size of one RSF grant is from 4 to 6 million roubles per project per year, these research projects are planned for the implementation during 2019-2021.

Proposals can be submitted until November 30, 2018 with results announced in July 2019.

The Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres is the largest scientific organisation in Germany. It is a union of autonomous 18 scientific-technical and biological-medical research centers. The official mission of the Association is "solving the grand challenges of science, society and industry" by conducting top-rate research in the fields of Aeronautics, Space and Transport; Earth and Environment; Energy; Health; Matter; and Key Technologies. Scientists at Helmholtz therefore focus research on complex systems which affect human life and the environment. The namesake of the association is the German physiologist and physicist Hermann von Helmholtz (1821 – 1894).
