The RSF delegation chaired by General Director Alexander Khlunov held talks with the President of the Helmholtz Association, Otmar D. Wiestler, on June 1 in Berlin. "By the end of June, we will announce the results of our second joint call and in September we will release our third joint call focused on research of new materials and prospective physics. We are ready to expand our cooperation with the Helmholtz Association further in other thematic areas”, the head of the Russian delegation noted.
In the context of the Russian-German Year of research and educational partnerships in 2018-2020, the parties agreed to organise a seminar in the second half of 2019 so that research team leaders and contributors of the joint projects funded would talk about the results of their projects and discuss with their colleagues further perspectives of joint research activities.
The RSF delegation also visited the third generation synchrotron BESSY II in Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB) in Adlershof. This unique research infrastructure is used by the Russian-German laboratory, which staff explained about their research and expressed hope for a more intensive interdisciplinary cooperation among Russian and German teams.
