On April 3, by Decree of the President of Russia № 237, Vladimir Bespalov has been officially appointed and begins work as the Russian Science Foundation's director general.
Vladimir Bespalov graduated from National Research University of Electronic Technology (MIET) in 1981. In 1998 he joined the university administration for the first time. Since 2016, he worked as the MIET rector. Dr. Bespalov is a Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, his scientific work was focused in micro- and nanoelectronics, photoelectronics based on complex semiconductors. He is also a member of the Presidential Council for Science and Education.
His term in office may be marked by a number RSF initiatives in the field of applied research and development as the RSF strives to develop a wide range of funding activities to address advancements in strategic technologies in the next years.
