RSF strengthens links with partners in Tokyo

During this visit on January 21-22 the first talks between the Russian Science Foundation and Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED) were hold on the prospects for cooperation in the field of medicine and life sciences. AMED was created in April 2015 as the specialized national health research funding agency, the Managing director of AMED Mr. Masahiko Noda has expressed interest in establishing cooperation with RSF. The parties agreed that in March 2016 the AMED delegation will also visit RSF to discuss the parameters of cooperation in further details.

RSF also held consultations with the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) about the development of a joint program to fund projects implemented by Russian-Japanese research teams. The support for the development of such a program, in particular, was expressed by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (MEXT) in charge of the JST activities, by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) as well as by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). All of these organizations were also visited by RSF delegation.
