"We evaluate our experience of the first joint call as a successful one, 17 projects awarded resulted in more than 80 publications over the past two years. We also note the positive dynamics in terms of the co-authorship of our grantees with Indian scientists. In 2017, the number of such publications increased by 73%", said Andrey Blinov, RSF Director for programs and projects. "In our new international calls we place a special emphasis on publishing the research results in reputable high-impact journals, while it is the researchers who choose, which particular journal to send the article to."

According to Arabida Mitra, the Indian government adapts such approach fully to stimulate the quality of research activities.

"We will adhere to this logic in working with Indian research teams in the framework of our new call," the chairman of the Indian delegation agreed.
